| NEXUS is acclaimed throughout the music world for its innovative percussion music, much of it composed by members of the group. Since their first all improvised concert in 1971, NEXUS has been captivating audiences with an eclectic mix of music drawn from all over the Globe. Their virtuosity and innovative programming have inspired compositions from some of the greatest composers of our time. They have inspired the formation of other percussion ensembles throughout the world and have been a major influence on the acceptance of percussion music by composers and concert-goers.
NEXUS presents regular concerts and masterclasses at the Faculty of Music. In addition, Russell Hartenberger teaches applied lessons and Robin Engleman conducts the U of T Percussion Ensemble.
