A significant presence on the NY and international music scene, Tim Ries has worked with a who’s who of jazz, classical and pop icons, including The Rolling Stones, Maynard Ferguson, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Paul Simon, Phil Woods, Joe Henderson, Tom Harrell, Al Foster, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Maria Schneider and the Prism Saxophone Quartet.

Tim’s critically acclaimed release ‘The Rolling Stones Project’ features a host of guest performers, including: Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, Bill Frisell, John Scofield, Brian Blade, John Patitucci, Larry Goldings and Bill Charlap.

His newest recording presents a collection of Ries originals featuring Jack DeJohnette, Bill Frisell, Larry Goldings and others.

Tim Ries brings to U of T a wealth of world-class experience, cutting-edge ability and a musical personality that knows no boundaries. The student body and the faculty are equally excited to work with him. Tim will teach classes, coach ensembles and work with private students.
