Peg Albrecht is currently teacher of flute at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, where she also holds a Master's Degree in Performance & Lit. Further study has been under Nora Shulman, Jeanne Baxtresser and William Bennett. She has performed as principle flutist with Stratford Festival, 2nd flute/piccolo with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra and principle flute with the Canadian Opera Company's touring orchestra. Ms. Albrecht has for many years been in high demand as one of the leading flute teachers in Canada. Her students have been Kiwanis winners, winners of international competitions, members of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Toronto Wind Symphony. Others have gone on to graduate work at Eastman School of Music, Julliard, Univ. of New York, McGill and Univ. of Montreal. Several of her students have also won jobs in professional Canadian orchestras and others have pursued careers in music education and music therapy. Ms. Albrecht is a specialist in sound production and development of tone colours and nuances suitable to the French style.
