Gabriel Radford

Gabe was born and raised in Toronto, Canada . He is currently Third Horn of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra

In June 1998, at the age of 23, Gabe successfully auditioned for Associate Principal Horn of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.  Following three years in that position, he accepted an offer to become Acting Principal Horn.  While in Winnipeg , he was also Principal Horn of both Music Barock and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. 

In addition to his work in the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Gabe is featured frequently in chamber music and new music concerts.  His recent appearances include National CBC broadcasts with Amici and Soundstreams Canada . Gabe’s summer of 2006 was spent participating in a chamber music festival in Canna, Italy , which will be the subject of a feature documentary on the television station Bravo.  He will be appearing in London, Ontario in a recital for Aeolian Concerts in March 2007.

Gabe is a devoted teacher.  He was Horn Instructor at the University of Manitoba, before moving to Toronto and accepting the same position at the University of Toronto, where he has a full studio and frequently coaches young professionals in their preparations for orchestral auditions.  He has given masterclasses at the University of Toronto, the Glenn Gould Professional School, and at the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Gabe teaches each summer at Inter-Provincial Music Camp near Parry Sound, Ontario.
