Born and raised in Ottawa, saxophonist Dave Neill moved to Toronto in 1995 to pursue a jazz performance degree from the University of Toronto, where he studied with Alex Dean and Mike Murley. Since the completion of his degree, he has been in great demand as a performer, instructor, adjudicator and clinician. Known as an up-and-coming player, Dave has appeared at numerous jazz festivals and is actively involved with the freelance scene, performing with Nikki Yanofsky, Regis Philbin, Johnny Mathis, Wayne Newton, Frankie Valli, the Paul Read Orchestra, the Kirk MacDonald Jazz Orchestra, the Dave Young/Terry Promane Big Band and John MacLeod's Rex Hotel Orchestra. Aside from teaching at the University of Toronto, Dave is on faculty at Humber College and the Humber College Community Music School, as well as "The" Jazz Camp, all while maintaining an active private studio.

In June of 2007, Dave graduated in the first ever class with a Master's in Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto, studying privately with Kirk MacDonald, Jim Vivian, Gary Williamson, Tim Ries and Paul Read. In 2008, Dave released his debut CD "All In" which includes eight original compositions and one standard, featuring his regular quartet: pianist David Braid, bassist Pat Collins and Anthony Michelli on drums.
