At the University of Toronto, students study with brass faculty who are performers and teachers with international reputations. Our brass performance program is stimulating and flexible, designed to produce thinking musicians who are strong in artistry, creativity and career development skills.
Students can chose from a selection of Toronto’s finest teachers, including experts in specific techniques and performance styles. Our instrument bank provides specialized instruments (trumpets in various keys, Wagner Tubas, bass trombones, euphoniums, descant horns, historical brass) on loan for use in ensembles. Performance ensembles are an integral part of the performance experience, exposing the students to a broad range of conducting and coaching styles.
