The study of music through the Faculty of Arts & Science is concerned with the cultural history of music as it occurs in society both through the ages and throughout the world.
Program options are:
- specialist (at least 10 credits out of 20)
- specialist with ensemble option (at least 10.5 credits out of 20)
- major (at least 7 credits out of 20)
- major with ensemble option (at least 7.5 credits out of 20)
- minor (4.0 credits).
In addition, we offer MUS courses for those with an interest in music to meet distribution requirements. Even students with a strong music background find these strong explorations of the world of music. All courses with the exception of MUS120Y1 & MUS220Y1 (Vocal & Instrumental Ensembles I & II) are open to all students excluding those enrolled in the music major or specialist. Students interested in enroling in MUS120Y1 or MUS220Y1 are required to successfully demonstrate their performing ability in an audition.
