The Black Renaissance in Music with Dr. Samantha Ege, piano

The Faculty of Music is delighted to welcome Dr. Samantha Ege, an award-winning musicologist and internationally recognized concert pianist, for a solo recital and Q&A with Dean Ellie Hisama.

Dr. Ege is a leading interpreter and scholar of the African American composer Florence B. Price and her publications and performances shed an important light on composers from underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Ege will perform a recital including works by Price, Robert Nathaniel Dett, Margaret Bonds and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
